Man, I have no time to finish this costume before Easter weekend and yet I'm so pumped!!

I've spent the last two days laying and styling hair for Simon's beard and mustache (8 hours for the beard, 5 for the mustache), and still have the eyebrows to go!

Originally I was going to hand-tie the pieces, but unfortunately I bought wig lace that was too fine (or rather, the holes were too small) for the ventillating needles that I had! So instead I decided to "float" the beard and mustache, basically using spirit gum and pros-aide (I only used both because I wanted to experiment and see which worked best) to hand-lay the beard onto the wig lace and creating a premade piece that can be worn multiple times. I think the reason it took me so long was because the adhesives did NOT want to stick, so I had to do a lot of retouching and holding things in place. I'm really happy with the results though!

Here's a photo of my progress- the blue 5 o'clock shadow area on the wig head is because I used my face makeup to color the wig lace before applying the hair. -> [link]

The wig is a Jareth from Arda Wigs and is currently just teased! I still have so much to do!

Hee-Hee... you make beards now? Do you like....or would you be willing to do a commission. I want a nice beard for Mordecai (Borderlands 2) but I have NO clue how I would even try to make the beard look decent. I looked online for fake beards but they look too real. His is more like straight wig hair.

Anyway....Just let me know. It's totally fine if you would be uncomfortable but I'm just saying...I am a fan of your work. You're super talented, I get jealous lol >.>;

I don't think I have it in me to do another one of these right now, but thank you so much!! :3 In a couple of months I may use this method for Monarch's awesome beard, which is pretty similar to Mordecai! Maybe then I can give you some specific tips (if it turns out alright, of course).

Oh okay. That's okay! I'm sure it's A LOT of work. You did so well. ^ ^ I'm not sure what I'm going to do for Mordecai's beard. My boyfriends won't grow that long in time...so we definitely need a fake one. Haha.
